The Proposal

Before I get to the proposal I thought I would bore you with some details. Matt has moved most of his stuff in and boy does my house look small. His parents came into town and helped us move the heavy stuff from Matt's house. Keep your fingers crossed that his house sale goes through. The closing date is July 31!

Einstein is glad to have two adults fawning over him!

In November Matt and I went to Columbia for a Football game. I hadn't been back to Mizzou in quite a few years and hadn't been back for a football game since college. Matt appreciates my love for anything MU, so he gave me the tickets and the trip to the game for my 33rd birthday. He and I had taken the last few Christmas card photos at my house, so I wanted to go to the quad. I thought maybe we could get a good picture in front of the columns. Matt also bought Mizzou shirts for us to wear to the Blackout game. We went to the quad and I was messing with my camera, trying to set the timer and Matt came over to me and told me to hold on a minute. He took my hands in his, bent down on one knee, told me that he loved me (I don't remember what he said it is all a blur), and proposed. Meanwhile, there was a photographer milling around the Quad taking pictures around the campus. After Matt Proposed, we asked her if she wouldn't mind taking a picture of us. She confessed that she had looked over and saw Matt down on one knee and snapped a photo. She gave us her business card and told us she would send the photo. We were elated and extremely grateful. We went on to the Mizzou game, the tigers did not disappoint and they won, I got to hang out with some friends from college and show off my fiance!

When we returned from the weekend, Matt emailed the photographer, she sent the picture and shared a story of her own. She was from Kansas City and that night she also got engaged.

It was a crazy set of circumstances and I don't think that if we wanted a photographer to be there it would have worked out as well.

The wedding is now 7 weeks away. Happy Friday!

How fun! I haven't been back to MU since probably 2000. We planned to go last year but a dealth in the family prevented the trip. My husband is dying to see where I went to school, visit the Pi Lodge and get all the kids Mizzou sweatshirts!
